What is a Health and Wellness Coach?
The technical definition is “A health coach is a trained professional who works with individuals or groups to help improve overall health and well-being. Health/Wellness coaches are knowledgeable in areas such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, and lifestyle changes, and they use this knowledge to provide guidance, support, and accountability to their clients.”
At Radiant Health and Wellness with Coach Jen, I listen, empower and encourage you on matters having to do with your personal health challenges – weight, exercise, diet, nutrition or other issues that may be impacting your health. Together, we create a plan that will work for you.

What is a Nutrition Coach?
A Certified Nutrition Coach works with clients to help improve their diet, to maximize each individual’s health and wellness. I share my knowledge about food to provide guidance and support. I also share tools and techniques about how your choice of food can help you feel stronger, have more focus and energy, so that you can feel your best and radiant.
What is the difference between a Nutrition Coach and a Health/Wellness Coach?
Nutrition coaches focus primarily on helping clients improve their diet and nutrition, working with them to develop meal plans, make smarter food choices, and address specific dietary concerns.
Health/wellness coaches take a more rounded approach to health and wellness. While nutrition is very much an important part of overall health, health/wellness coaches also focus on key areas such as exercise, stress management, and lifestyle changes.
What are the benefits of having a Personal Trainer?
Personal trainers provide motivation, accountability, education, and personalized attention all while focusing on proper form and function of movements.
Not all Personal Trainers are Health/Wellness Coaches. Not all Health/Wellness Coaches are certified in Personal Training.
As a health/wellness coach with a certification in personal training, I have in-depth knowledge and experience that enables me to help my clients achieve the success they have been looking for.
What is the difference between a health/wellness coach and personal trainer?
A personal trainer focuses primarily on helping clients improve their physical fitness through exercise programs, developing workout plans that are tailored to their individual needs and goals, providing guidance on proper exercise form and technique.
Health coaches take a holistic approach to wellness, focusing on overall health and wellness in with diet, exercise, stress management, mindfulness and other lifestyle factors.
Not all health coaches can provide guidance in movement and exercise, and not all personal trainers focus on overall health. As your coach, I can do both! Providing incorporating movement into your wellness journey!
Do you hate exercise?
As your personal trainer, I work with you to explore fitness routines that are right for you and will work within your likes and needs. Finding what works for you is key in your health and wellness and achieving success.
Together, we will create a plan that is customized for you, with your goals as the guiding force behind what exercises are best for you. With my experience, we will have fun, get results and change your mind on exercise.
Why is nutrition important for overall health?
Nutrition plays a critical role in overall health and well-being. Ever hear the phrase “food is the best medicine?” When you are eating the right foods, your body will respond positively. Food can give you energy, assist with disease prevention, help with weight management, provide better mental health, increase longevity, and so much more.

How long does it take to see results?
Results can be in seen as quickly as a few weeks. Depending on your overall goals (and their size), it may take a few months or longer. Everyone is different. The amount of time you have to spend and number of changes you are comfortable making will impact how long it takes.
We will start where you are, make small manageable changes with your input to make sure you are successful each step of the way. Each milestone is cause for celebration, since one small change can lead to more.
Results are dictated by your activity and commitment to your plan.
As your partner, my job is to understand when adjustments need to be made, to ensure continued success. This sometimes means making smaller changes that may be more manageable for you.
When you start to have that glow, when you begin to feel Radiant, then we know your program is working and results are near!
What are the benefits of one-on-one coaching versus group coaching?
One-on-one coaching is beneficial to those who prefer very personalized attention, customized support, and feedback tailored to their unique needs and goals.
Group coaching offers the benefits of peer learning and support. Group coaching can provide a sense of community, accountability, and the opportunity to learn from others’ experiences and perspectives. Group coaching does provide some personalized attention, but is limited due to the group dynamic.
Both one-on-one coaching and group coaching can be effective, and the choice depends on what you hope to achieve and what type of learning environment best suits you.
Are there any age limits when it comes to health/wellness coaching?
There is no specific age that is best for having a health/wellness coach – the decision to work with a health/wellness coach depends on an individual’s personal goals, health status, and readiness to make changes.
As a health/wellness coach and personal trainer, I am certified in coaching adults; and I have knowledge and am certified in youth coaching. I also have a wealth of knowledge regarding health concerns and issues that affect seniors.
